Elizabeth Labovitz grew up in Holden, Massachusetts and began her dance training at the age of five at Paula Meola Dance and Performing Arts. She has attended multiple summer intensives, including Cincinnati Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. In May 2020 she graduated cum laude from Butler University’s Jordan College of the Arts, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in dance pedagogy with a minor in English.
With Butler Ballet, she has performed both classical and contemporary repertoire, including soloist roles in The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Giselle. She has choreographed several works during her time at Butler. Her piece When You Whisper my Name, choreographed for Paula Meola Dance, was performed in the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival in 2019. In the spring of 2018, Elizabeth toured extensively through Eastern Europe, performing numerous new works with Butler Ballet.
In the Summer of 2020, she relocated to Columbus, OH to dance as a member of Ballet Met's trainee program. As a trainee, she had the opportunity to perform in Balanchine's Western Symphony, The Sleeping Beauty, and Coppelia, as well as company roles in Ballet Met's production of The Nutcracker, and Edwaard Liang's Giselle and Cinderella. Additionally, Elizabeth was on Ballet Met's faculty as a teacher and choreographer for their academy students. Her choreography was performed in St. Petersburg, FL at the ADC IBC Finals.
In 2022, she moved to Providence, RI, to dance with Festival Ballet Providence. While there, she taught for numerous studios throughout the area, including The Talent Factory in North Kingstown, RI and Let's Dance in Warwick, RI.
Most recently, Elizabeth relocated to Atlanta to join Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre for their 2023-2024 season.
